Serenity Now!!

Feet in the sand on a warm day in beautiful Malibu, I wondered when the Pacific Ocean was formed (I know, I am a royal nerd!) .  After a quick Google search I found it was formed nearly 180 million years ago!   My brain could not even begin to understand that time reference... As humans we are here for such a short period of time and long after we are gone the ocean will still come and wet the sand everyday like a loyal servant.  In the spirit of "life is now", I sat crossed legged listening to The Greatest Hits Of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and sitar music by my friend Paddy Sullivan (how irish is that?!) and meditated on the following mantra: "Serenity Now" (made infamous by Frank Costanza on Seinfield).  I found peace in just being.  Enjoying the sounds of the waves and trusting that like the ocean; the love I have for life, friends and myself is infinite and everlasting.  Before you roll your eyes and vommit over the cheesiness of that last statement, I guess the point I am trying to make (thanks to Shizue for the reminder) is that boyfriends, lovers and tricks come and go but that the love you have for your yourself, friends, etc is always there no matter how broken your heart is... As dark of a place sadness can take you to, every breath is a chance to bring out the life force we all have in us.  That is the energy that moves mountains and creates miracles.  Today, with the ocean as my inspiration, I breathed in love and abundance and let go of fear and sadness.  And just for today, it felt amazing...
