When it rain, it pours....Where is my umbrella?

Woke up at 2:59 am with "Someone like you" by Adele in my head.  Her new album 21 was inspired by her broken heart, no wonder why I can relate to 99 percent of it.
"Don't you remember" is another one beautiful songs I had to play over and over again.

When it rains, it pours... Days before the breakup I was invited to 2 weddings and today I found out yet another friend is getting married. 3 weddings, 3 weekends on a row in Sept.2011... Oy I say.  I am however so happy for my friends, they all deserve it.  Especially Josh W. who has been dumped twice on Christmas day!!
I remember making him return all the gifts he had bought for his girlfriend at the time.

I got a chance to hike this morning to clear up my head and get some exercise.  While climbing up the hill, I listened to Pema chodron's powerful book "When things fall apart, advice for the heart in difficult time".  The message I got so far is that this very moment is the perfect teacher to show me where I am holding back and show me with terrifying clarity where I am stuck. These moments teach us to perk up and lean in rather then back away and collapse.  Takes a sec to process this one...

Best poem of the day awards goes to my bff Laura B for sharing the following:
When her girlfriend shattered her world, friends of hers wrote this in a card, and it helped make it a little better... it's paraphrased from a work by Rumi, ancient Persian Sufi poet:

Weep and then smile
There's a necessary dying, and then Love is breathing again
Very little grows on jagged rock
Be ground - be crumbled
So wild flowers will come up where you are
You've been stony for too many years
Try something different
Surrender

Next step, get my presentation done... Wish me luck
