As you can imagine, lately I have been pondering all kinds of things including the meaning of life & love. Mine and his, weighting the pros and cons of being in love, out of love, etc... I had conversations with friends about it, and in most cases despite the pain and disappointment a heartbreak brings, my friends had no regrets about the love they experienced and all the meaning it brought to their lives. To love and lose is better then to never love seem to be verdict among everyone. Then, I came across Søren Kierkegaard, the early 19th century philosopher who said that an individual is solely responsible for giving his or her own life meaning and for living that life passionately and sincerely in spite of many existential obstacles and distractions including despair, angst, absurdity, alienation, and boredom. Finally, I came found this site from author William Blake to be quite interesting and to the point: www.themeaningoflife.org. As I get closer to my birthday ( OMG it's a month away!!) I will keep exploring the subject as I reminisce about the beautiful birthday celebration the ex put together for me last year...
