Hostess With The Mostest!

It's been a while since I have attended or hosted an event but tonight I volunteered at a fundraiser for the charity my friend Marcella is deeply involved in, Autism Speaks (www.autismspeaks.org).  The event took place on the 17th floor of Hotel Angeleno. The views of L.A were dazzling and the set up superb (especially those yummy red velvet mini cupcakes from Frosted, see pic below).  My duties for the night included welcoming and guiding the guests.  It was such an honor to welcome all these people united by the same desire to cure Autism.  At no point in time during the night did I think of myself or the ex.  What a relief!   There is a life after this I am starting to believe..  This relationship meant so much to me that at times, I forget that I had a life prior to it.  Dare I also say I forgot the power of a little mascara, a dash of lip gloss and brushing my hair for that matter...  Nothing better then looking good, speaking to people and more importantly feeling great because you are doing something for someone that has it worse then you do.  Note to self: Keep up the positive outlooks and let go of all that does not feel good.
