I started my day punching, elbowing and kneeing pads at my muai thai boxing class followed by a solo hike at Runyon Canyon. Climbed up the hill listening to Russell Simmons teaching me how to have it all (Super Rich: A Guide to Having it All
in case you don't have it). Once I got on top I realized there were hardly any clouds in the sky and downtown L.A was way visible which is super rare. Part of me also got freaked out because everyone is talking about potential earthquakes this weekend. Although there were a lot of kids and dogs playing at the top of the hill, I still found peace sitting down and listening to Johnny Cash's version of " In My Life
". I was in tune with the music and the lyrics and in the moment. Although I have been hiking for the past weeks, consumed by my own chagrin, I have been completely oblivious to my surroundings, avoiding the simple joys of being on top of the city and closer to the sky. This prompted me to ask myself what other opportunities I had not noticed these past few weeks... Note to self: To move on you need to stay aware and present!
